Studio Mastrella is pleased to present the new book by Romano Mastrella “Da grande volevo fare il graphic designer”, published in 2025 by Fausto Lupetti Editore.
This book tells the story of Romano Mastrella's early and yet never completely abandoned adventure and experience in the world of graphic design, shedding light on numerous of his graphic design works.
A training and travel book that explores the importance that this discipline has had in Romano’s professional life, allowing him to address the multiple declinations of interior design and architecture. With unpublished notes by Bruno Munari, Giancarlo Illiprandi, Heinz Waibl on the already high-level work of a young man.
“As editor, the first time I saw the draft of this book I thought: it happens that there is a moment when young people look for space and freedom in the language of signs, in lines and colour, in photography. There is the desire to express oneself by creating surfaces and pages that give more meaning and strength to the words and the text, and a weight and measure to the images, all by following a method and the theories of the masters.
Then, when you fall in love with them, you become a great graphic designer or, as in the case of Romano Mastrella, a designer/architect who has done and continues to create in Italy and around the world beautiful architectures and interior design works inspired, as he himself writes, by a graphic "method", which represents the common thread of this book."
